Maru Pabón

Maru Pabón is a PhD candidate in Comparative Literature at Yale University. Her manuscript in progress examines the Third-Worldist desire to construct the “voice” or “language of the people” across Palestinian, Cuban, and Algerian poetry from the late 50s to the early 70s. Focusing on the writers Mahmoud Darwish, Fayad Jamís, and Jean Sénac, the project likewise makes visible the networks of circulation, translation, and exchange that link these poets together. She is also a translator from the Spanish, Arabic, and French.
