E. Irem Az is a poet, writer, and anthropologist in training at Columbia University. While her academic work is on the intersections of the body, labor and natural resource extraction, her writing in all genres revolves around the concrete, sensuous labor of survival. She is the author of a book of (ethnographic) poetry in Turkish, sade yaşadığımız [our sheer living] (Nod, 2020). She lives and works in Istanbul and New York.
