Maria Najjar

Maria Najjar is a recent Gender Studies Masters graduate from the School of Oriental and African Studies in London. She is currently applying for her doctorate in the same field and is specifically interested in critically examining and researching the peculiar inter-dynamics of gender, kinship and politics in Lebanon. Broadly, Maria's interest lies in the relationship between kinship structures and socio-political systems in the Middle East, and particularly, how they produce, sustain or dismantle understandings of gender. As an aspiring academic and activist, Maria's portfolio is only nascent but, nevertheless, ambitious.
