Yalda Hamidi
Yalda Hamidi is Assistant Professor of Women’s and Gender Studies at Minnesota State University, Mankato. Yalda is interested in transnational, postcolonial, and Islamic feminisms. Her work area is focused on Middle Eastern and Iranian feminisms, war, diaspora, sovereignty, and the relationship between women and the nation. Yalda’s research, “From Female Patriotism to Diasporic Womanhood: Negotiating Diaspora and Feminist Aspirations,” challenges the appropriation of Iranian diasporic literature in feminist and literary canons and suggests new ways of applying rhetorical listening for reading the multi-ethnic feminist literature.
