Jillian Grisel
Jillian Grisel obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Utah and a Master’s degree in Public Health from the American University of Beirut. Jillian has worked with international and local research teams on topics that include adolescent health, prisoner rights, and women’s mental health. Currently, her therapies have expanded to include male abusers with criminal histories related to violence, and although controversial, presented her frameworks at the National Sexual Assault Conference as a solution to the limitations of talk therapies and transforming trauma. She is currently transitioning to the University of New Mexico as a graduate student in the American Studies Program where she will simultaneously apprentice under Indigenous healers from various traditions. She aims to become a prominent researcher in radical scholarship while developing her therapeutic frameworks as restorative justice tools to address the harms done within her own community.
