Amira Mahmoud Othman

Amira is currently a Sociology-Anthropology MA student at the American University in Cairo, where she had earned her BA in Communication and Media Arts. She is also a registered medical student at the Faculty of Medicine at Ain Shams University. Her research interests lie at the intersections between/within the anthropologies of state, law, time, crime, death, and documents. Her current research project and forthcoming MA thesis explore the death penalty in Egypt from an anthropological perspective, with emphasis on its details.
