Sara Shaker
Sara Shaker is an Assistant Lecturer in the Political Science Department at the British University in Egypt, and one of the main researchers for the “25th Revolution Oral History Project” at the American University Library in Egypt and the “Oral History Project of Heliopolis” at the British University in Egypt (BUE) in partnership with Leicester University. In August 2017, she joined the bi-national Fulbright Commission in Egypt as a Program Consultant, where she has been responsible for administering the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program, one of the largest programs for Egyptian mid-career professionals to pursue a non-degree study at prestigious universities in the United States. Sara graduated from BUE – in partnership with Loughborough University – in 2011 with a BSc in Political Science. She then pursued an MA at the American University in Cairo (AUC). Along with teaching activities, she has been engaged in community service activities, particularly in the area of education and health. She assisted the grants department at Life Makers Foundation in proposal funding initiatives. Sara’s BSc thesis was published by LAMBERT Academic Publishing in 2014.
